Ashlynn Alice-Grace Stimpson

After a hard week of contractions and back pain Ashlynn finally decided to arrive. She came into the world beautifully at 6 pounds 8 ounces and 19 inches long. I went into the hospital at 9:oo pm and delivered at 8:55 am. At around 8:45 I felt some strange pains and the nurse checked and said the head was right there. I was checked at 7:00 am and was still at a 5 and then jumped straight to a 10. The problem was that Kurt was at home trying to get some sleep and waiting for the call that I was close. So basically we had to call him and tell him to run and the nurse ran to get the Dr. The baby was so low it would have taken about three pushes if we had not waited for Kurt. To make my labor even more special Megan and Hayley spent the night with me. Hayley wanted to watch Ashlynn come into the world and I thought it was a special thing to share with her. As usual Megan was an amazing support standing by my side all night just talking or helping me out through the night.

We spent most of the pregnancy trying to find the perfect name for our new bundle. We decided on three different name before the perfect one presented itself. I knew I wanted Grace for the middle name to celebrate the Grace that God has given all of us. But once I heard Ashlynn I fell in love with it. Kurt wanted to honor his mother my adding Alice to her name. I agreed and thought it was a brilliant idea. When Hayley was born I helped decide how her name was spelled so to follow tradition Megan helped me decide how to spell Ashlynn's.

Having a second child is so special in many ways. I am a little more relaxed and feel so much more comfortable being a mom the second time around. I feel as though some things I am enjoying more and finding delight in the differences between my two girls. There are many things that make Ashlynn special but I only have time to share a few at this point. As soon as Ashlynn was born she was laid upon my chest and she lifted her head to look over at everyone in the room. It was like she wanted so bad to finally see all of the voices that she had heard for 38 weeks. She is the most wiggly strong baby alive. I knew when she was in my belly that her movements were very strong and that she was going to be a very big eater. I was right on both accounts as she eats all day and night. She only gives me about 2 hour intervals to sleep. Two nights ago Kurt took over a feeding in hope that I could get a four hour stretch of sleep. I told him to start with a 2 ounce bottle. He finally woke me up at midnight to say that she had drank a 5 ounce bottle. I was shocked and hoped this meant she might last another 3 hours before a feeding but she was back up at 1:00 am for another feeding. Another surprise that Ashlynn brought with her was teeth. Of course any nursing mom can tell you how I figured that one out. That is right there is nothing like being bit by a 2 day old. I know for sure she has one that is actually out of her gum but believe that she has three popped out. I can actually see the white in her gums. We are heading for a check up tomorrow with an amazing Dr so I will have him confirm. While I have so many things I want to share about my sweet bundle of love it is time for another feeding and some special kisses from my two year old..

I have so many different shots that I want to take of Ashlynn and hope I get the chance to take all of them. I spent an hour trying to get a couple of cute ones to share with everyone as soon as possible and here is what I came up with. Be on the look out for many more but this will have to appease everyone until I can see straight..
