In celebration of the new baby Kurt's mom and dad (Alice and Fred) bought us our first baby crib. When it arrived Kurt diligently put it together as I took a nap. (wonderful husband). My dad gave us a old dresser (you can see it next to the crib) to act as a changing station for the baby. This dresser was in our house growing up so it has some sentimental value to me. We then bought a few items to put together to create the nursery. Kurt and I live in a condo that is about 1,500 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is nice and cozy and located three blocks from the bay and placed in front of the old train station and new library. The nursery has to share space with the spare bedroom but I am sure the baby will not mind.Eventually we will upgrade to a house with a yard (for Lucy) and the baby will be able to have it's very own room.
Yesterday, Kurt bought second hand from someone he knows a beautiful glider for the nursery. A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine called to let me know that there was a baby yard sale that had incredible finds in it. So of course I had to check it out and the lady had all matching Graco pack & play, stroller, car seat and swing. It was in incredible condition so we bought the place out. I was even able to get a maternity bathing suit, a couple of onesies (with monkeys on them) and some nursing camis. (oh yeah I am in love with sock monkeys so anything with monkeys on it I adore)
We still have a couple of items to purchase but we have been so blessed in things either being bought for us, given to us or incredible used items being found.
