We love to take walks around Traverse City and hike in the surrounding area. We have so many beautiful options to choose from and the kids love them all. We will walk the state hospital grounds, downtown, Boardman Lake trails right behind our house and of course walks to the beach. We were so excited when the weather changed that it seems we take a walk every day. During my obsessive uh I mean productive yard saleing I found a big girl bike with training wheels for Cahill. So now when we take walks Cahill will ride her bike and she is elated. It basically took her one day to learn to ride and then she learned to stop within 10 minutes. I was so super proud of her! Sometimes at night after supper when Kurt is home Cahill and I will just take a bike ride/walk and talk about the day together with no other distractions. Sometimes we will even escape early in the morning and take a ride. I hope she treasures those moments as much as I do. Okay anyway back to the reason of the post (will take pictures of her on her bike soon). Last month the girls and I invited one of Cahill's good friends and headed for a hike on the hospital grounds. It was a beautiful day and I just happened to bring my camera. I did not think about the fact that my ladies were not dressed for any picture taking as they barely matched. So today as I was editing them and looked at Cahill's striped sweater I cringed but then realized that it was her favorite sweater pretty much all winter. She wore this sweater everyday with a skirt for about 4 months. The amusing part is the bottom button is never buttoned and it drove me nuts as I would button it and she would insist it needed to be undone. So now I realize I am happy she wore it as when we look back I will laugh and tell her the story of how it was her favorite sweater and she never buttoned the bottom button.
