Stories

It is hard to believe that we are shutting the door on another summer and moving our way into fall. It has been one crazy summer for the Stimpsons and I am happy to see the weather change. I thought I would end the season with a few of my favorite stories.

Cucumber Story
This year Megan grew a beautiful garden and her hubby built her a fence and gate to surround it that Pottery Barn would be proud to display. Almost everyday we would walk around it and talk of its beauty and anticipate the taste of tomatoes and cucumbers fresh from the garden. All of the kids including Cahill would walk around it and point at the beans and the cukes and the peppers. Cahill will even help Megan find cukes to cut off when they are ready. So enough talk about the garden and onto the actual story. On the menu for dinner at Megan's house was grilled ceasar salads so Megan and Cahill went out in search of the perfect cuke and found only one. Megan cut it off and went inside and skinned it and then turned around to grab a knife. As she turned around Cahill grab the cuke off of the counter and ran off with it, eating it on the run. Megan turns around looking everywhere for the cuke thinking she had lost her mind. By the time she had found it boogie had already ate most of it.

The Desk
Most of you know Kurt and I own a condo four blocks from the bay and right off of the Tart Trail. We spend a lot of time walking downtown and walking to the beach. Most of you also know that I am married to an ultra conservative, Glen Beck loving God fearing man. So okay I promise I will tie the two together. So you can imagine how Kurt would feel when the Democratic party opened up an office across the street from us.Well on one of our walks we noticed at the vacant building their was a desk sitting outside with a "Free" sign. A week after this we went on another walk and saw that the Democratic party had moved in and the desk was on the side of the road waiting to be picked up as trash. I turned to Kurt and say "guess no one wanted the desk" he says "honey of course not it is a Democratic desk". I had no words I just cried I laughed so hard.

Potty Training
So at 22 months Cahill decided to sit on the potty and go potty. We were so excited thinking about being able to get rid of diapers and poopy pants and buying panties for her. Well now she is 25 months and while she pees on the potty more and more each day we are far from complete potty training. But one day Cahill decides she needs to go potty so she strips all her clothes off and grabs my hand and takes me to the big potty and tells me to sit and then she goes to the other big potty and pees all by herself. Apparently she needed my support or wanted to pee at the same exact time not sure but it was cute..
