Baby Update

The early part of my pregnancies tend to be awful and the second part of my pregnancies tend to be great. I have finally made it to five months and my body is starting to feel a lot better. The rashes are gone, the nausea is gone, the headaches and indigestion are a little better. But the best part is I can actually stay up past 7:00 at night and make it to 8:00 or sometimes even 9:00. I am still very tired and eating Tums as if they were my greatest craving. I am back to running and playing beach volleyball a couple of times a week. I have scaled back my hours at work to 24 so that I am able to spend some more time with my family and control stress levels. The Dr says everything is looking great and the belly is starting to make an appearance. I am completely into prego clothes and starting to look less fat and more pregnant. But onto the good news.... For our first baby Kurt and I agreed that we wanted the gender to be a complete surprise. It was so wonderful to experience my first baby that way and it just seemed to make it even more special. But this time around due to the need to plan and prepare much more then the first we decided to find out the gender before the birth. On July 2nd, we headed to the ultrasound with a crowd. Kurt, Cahill, Megan , Hayley and my dad all came to the appt with me. At first the baby was sleeping nicely in my pelvic area (where it always is and will not move and gives me great back aches and organ pressure) with the legs crossed. But eventually the baby woke up and we were able to find out that we are having another GIRL... I was so excited as i wanted another girl.. I could tell Kurt was a little disappointed but still excited. We have also confirmed that the baby is due right on Thanksgiving Day. (talk about timing)

Now lets spend a little time talking about cravings. For the last pregnancy the only two items that I craved the entire time was deep fried pickles, arby melts and the worst was cherry coke. All I ever wanted during the pregnancy and during nursing was Cherry Coke. Now we move onto this pregnancy.. My cravings seem to change by the hour and they never make any sense. I jump from chocolate milk to fried chicken sandwiches. But mostly I just want to eat what anyone else is eating. I have thought about ripping food out of people's hands and running or just plain offering them a hundred bucks for their pasta. If I make the food I will not touch it but if you make the food (no matter what it is) I will eat all of it. This makes for a very crabby prego as most of the time I do not get what I want. My latest food fetish is avocado bean cakes from Firefly. The best part is that they are $9 for two of them. So as you can see food has been a very frustrating event. I have to give myself pep talks about eating and eating healthy. (does not work)..

But despite all of the pain and frustration we are so excited for the day we meet out new baby girl.
