Best Laid Plans

As the alarm went off at 5:45, Kurt and I jumped out of bed and started getting dressed, packing our bags and making breakfast burritos with freshly chopped tomatoes. Our Memorial Day was going to start with breakfast on the Bay with Pappa. We loaded into the Tahoe and headed to the marina to meet up with Pappa and the dinghy. We trolled around the marina and then headed for the open water to eat our breakfast. Even though the radar had been checked and showed clear skies a storm started to move in. We had not even unwrapped our burritos when we saw lighting and began to watch the rain move over the water towards us. I tucked Cahill under a blanket and my dad started the motor and we headed back into the marina. By the time we arrived at the docks we were soaked and laughing at our 30 minute adventure. Cahill loved the rain and did not get upset in the least even though she was soaked. We had a fabulous plan for the start of our day even though we ended up eating our burritos in the Tahoe and watching the rain pour down.
