Birthday Party

We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate my daughter's First Birthday. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees and a slight breeze. I had so much help in preparing for the big day. My in-laws arrived from Saginaw on Friday to help watch the baby and help me cook and clean. (Alice had to clean the kitchen four times that weekend) We had four grills grilling 60 brats and hotdogs. We had 3 different types of hotdogs and 6 different types of brats. Watermelon, amazing beans (made by Jennifer R) and three different types of salads were present. But the best part of the party were the people that showed up. We had a total of 35 guest arrive between family and friends. One of the highlights of the evening was the cake. Cahill for the first time was able to taste cake and frosting and she loved it. At first she was hesitant and then she dipped one little finger in and tasted it and then from there it was a disaster. She squealed and laughed and made a whole array of faces as she ate her frosting. I have a video of her cake eating adventure which I will try to load onto this blog if I can figure it out.
