Baby and Momma news

On August 1st, Kurt and I had another baby appointment. We left the office disappointed as I still had not dialated and was only 75% thinned. I was extremely frustrated as I really wanted to see progress. As the day progressed, I started having a lot of back pain and seemed to be sore from the exam the Dr gave. At 1:00am I woke up to use the facilities and noticed that my water had broke. We called the hospital and they told us to pack our bags and head in. We arrived at the hospital and they sent us to triage to confirm that the water had broke and to start monitoring the contractions. After being checked I was dialated to a 2 and the contractions were five minutes apart. The Dr decided to admit us and told us we were there to stay..

The progress was slow and by 5:30am, I asked for an epidural which was finally delivered at about 8:00am. I then was checked again and they said I was between a 3-4 and then an hour later made it to 5. At 9:30am they started a pitosin IV as they were concerned about infection with the water breaking. I made it to a 9 at about 2:30pm and then a 10 at 3:00pm. I finally delivered at 4:26 to the most beautiful baby girl in the world.

My sister, Kurt's mom and Kurt were all coaching me through the entire labor. They all played very important roles and supported me through one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The nurse that I had was incredible also as she played tug of war and even had me standing and squatting over a bar.
